The Hellmask, a band formed in Rio de Janeiro by only four members (Joseph Stones on vocals, Camilo on guitars, Marcos on bass and Rufus on drums). The band was originally formed as a tribute band for the Ramones, but not only because of the scarcity of projects covering a good rock'n roll with a theme that is not revolving around the melodic, black, death and thrash metal, something that has at its core the raw horror and not extreme, well built, and then, after a long dilemma, everyone decided to give a new direction to the group: THE HELLMASK.

 

MEMBERS:

 

  Joseph Stones comes from a considerable 8-year-old road! Started in 2005 with a black metal band called "Sekhmá" which lasted until 2007, but fell apart because it was not what he aimed professionally, from 2007 until  2009, the band Babylon Business (which was called Lumiere) played Heavy Metal tracks with Hard Rock and classic rock touches. Since 2010 until now, He has had a project called Stigmata XXI, which includes gothic music and experimentalism within a magical and mythological language, but the Stigmata XXI, besides being too precious to him and keeping producing new things with the same, he's always had in mind putting into practice this Horror Rock project, one encompassing different musical styles within this language, writing the lyrics and story with great musicians of equal size.

 

Diego Évora (bass) met Joseph and the band on the internet and due to the great "chemistry" that had happened between all members, Diego became a key member in this project. He has a great influence of Heavy Metal, though his image shows the opposite, he has the fundamental kind of personality in a musician today in my opinion!

 

Camilo has a history of pure heavy metal, and by being a guitarist, it results in a large luggage to be a technical, virtuous and even brutal player, this guy can do things in this project that we always admire. We get along perfectly and great empathy that are helping us a lot in the creations of the songs.

 

Rufus is a great drummer, though he doesn't consider himself like that. He played with Joseph Stones in Babylon Business and its presence has been vital to this project, because he can balance between weight and melody and have, in most cases, the final opinion in all aspects, apart from being a person who we admire a lot! It's great to have him on this project.

 

THEME:

 

The main theme of this project is the Horror theme, but not a gore horror, but a horror with a well built foundation, in our point of view, there's no need to have blood and guts out to have a good theme of horror and Hellmask revolves around it!

 

We plan to launch our first job at the end of the year or early next year, but the shows will start rolling soon and we are very eager to give not only the Brazilian public, but as the world, what the power from The Hellmask is!
